Right now I’m staring at the open road in front of me here on I-35 North from Oklahoma City to Kansas City.  I know it’s been stated in a million different ways by a million different people, but there is something about the open road that places you before the glory of God.  You see the same sunsets from completely different perspectives.  You experience new smells mixed with familiar ones.  You meet new people that constantly challenge your idea of what it truly looks like to live.

Last night we made a lot of new friends… good friends.  Almost like meeting up with old friends.  One of our new friends was in the library during the Columbine shootings.  Hearing her story was inspiring.  But, her tragic experience is not what defines her.  She is loved by God and that is what defines her, just like the rest of us.  Being in a rock band doesn’t define me… what is that doesn’t define you?

New friends never cease to amaze us in every way.  Showers, beds, meals, money and authentic community.  Today I feel challenged to give more, to love more.  Let’s live for today.

We’re back in action… hope you are still subscribed!

Well, we are officially back on the road. Played Dallas last night, had a great time. 24 hours in the van was quite a task on the backside. Let’s just say I’m glad that I don’t normally live in a van. Although, if I was going to, I would live with this guy.

We are on to Oklahoma City tomorrow. Can’t wait to see you guys at the shows. I feel like a kid in school again that just got off of summer break. I’m stoked to see all my friends again. Hope you can make it out. Sorry we aren’t going to make it any farther east than Kansas City this time.

PS: Panera is freakin’ awesome. Great smells, great food… and free wireless!

That’s right folks… slightly different, but not too different. If you’re hip with it, check it out baby…

As I went on a photo-posting frenzy today, I came across this one from the Waking Ashland/Brighten tour. Bobs sharpied “I Honk for Brighten” across his chest and we all joined together on stage to dance. Today, this is what I miss about tour… just downright good ole fun!

If you ask us, summer has passed by like a ninja in the night. We’ll be sad to see it go really. However, as summer ends, another season must begin. While you may simply be thinking, Fall, of course, we’re thinking about hitting the road Jack!

We don’t have a Fall tour lined up quite yet, but we are itching to get to your neighborhood soon. So, stay tuned for more news about the new record and upcoming shows. These are exciting times for sure…
